Instructor Development Courses

General Instructor Development

  • 5 days / 40 hours

This course is approved by the Department of Criminal Justice Services as Pre-Approved Alternative Training for 13E and will be accepted for credit in lieu of the DCJS equivalent.

Firearms Instructor Development

  • 5 days / 40 hours

This course is approved by the Department of Criminal Justice Services as Pre-Approved Alternative Training for 14E and will be accepted for credit in lieu of the DCJS equivalent. This course also meets the requirements for DC Special Police Officer Firearms Instructor under DC Security Officers Management Branch as well as Maryland Firearms Instructor for Private Security by the Maryland State Police.

General Instructor (13I) and Firearms Instructor (14I) DCJS In-Service Courses

  • 2 Days

General and Firearms Instructor In-Service Courses are completed online. We offer in-person training for In Service and Re-Qualification Courses to large groups or for a predetermined price only. Firearm Instructor In-Service students must also Re-Qualify on the range.
